WILSON, VERA M. - 1923-2011 - Miramichi - Vera May Wilson, widow of the late James H. Wilson, of the South Napan Road, Napan, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, on August 21, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Mary Althea (Williston) and John Franklin Jardine. She was a homemaker and a seamstress by occupation and a former employee of Hotel Dieu Convent, in the former Town of Chatham. She was United Church, by faith. She is survived by one daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Fowler (Beverly), of Breadalbane, P.E.I.; one son, David Wilson (Diane), of Glenwood; four grandchildren, Stephen Fowler (Cheryl), of Moncton, Suzanne Fowler, of Dartmouth, N.S., Wanda Benson (Duane), of Quispamsis, Mark Wilson (Tammy), of Glenwood; four great grandchildren, Alex Fowler, Kyra Fowler, Amber Benson, Kyle Benson; one sister, Althea Connell, of Miramichi; one brother, Willis Jardine (Betty), of Dartmouth, N.S.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1988; one brother, Carson Jardine.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, May 13, 2011, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
