We, the family of Doris Crane, 68, of Loyola Crescent, Sydney, announce her passing on Monday, August 17, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Doris passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sinyard) Goss.
The time Doris spent watching her grandchildren perform their various sports and drama presentations was very special to her. She always looked forward to hearing from her grandchildren living in the United States and learning about their accomplishments. The frequent phone calls from her girls brought joy to her heart and a smile to her face.
Surviving are her loving husband, John, her friend, constant companion, and loving caregiver; daughters, Donna (Kevin) Moreshead-Wilson, Janice (Shawn) Moreshead-Kelly, Sandra (Darryl) Moreshead-Balmas and Lisa (Darrell) Moreshead-Rogers; stepchildren, Bonnie (James) Marjetti, Andrew Crane and Steve (Gail) Crane; sisters, Georgina (Fred) Moore, Shirley Deschaump and Barbara Burleigh; brothers, Redmond (Paulette) and Hayward (Enid); grandchildren, Keegan and Noah Kelly, Connor and Katie Rogers and Leisha and Matthew Crane; mother-in-law, Evelyn Moreshead.
Doris was predeceased by her sisters, Frances, Ann, Louise, Irene and Susan and brothers, Cecil, Gordon, Stewart, Jack and Bill.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday 10 a.m., with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
