Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, Herman G. Butt of Carbonear, age 84 years. Predeceased by wife: Alfreda; son: Barry; grandson: Brent; sister: Annie. Left to mourn, two sons: Ronald (Philomena), Burnt Point and Paul (Gladys), Freshwater, Carbonear; four daughters: Lillian (Allan) Clarke, Victoria, Sheila (Brian) Gear and Ann Deering, both of Carbonear and Wanda (Terry) Yetman, Bryant’s Cove; daughter-in-law: Brenda, Fort McMurray, AB; eleven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Lillian Burke, Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Jesse Bown conducted the funeral service on Thursday, May 12 at the United Church, Freshwater, Carbonear. Interment took place in the United Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to the Herman G. Butt Memorial Fund.
