It is with great sadness the family of the late Carl Ross Weatherbee Sr., age 70, of Amherst announce his passing on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Cecil and Gladys (Smith) Weatherbee.
Carl worked for Enamel Heating in Amherst from 1963 to 1975 and later worked for Oxford Frozen Foods in Oxford until his retirement in 1990.
In his younger years Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife the former Claudia Little, one daughter Carlene (Roy) Slack of Amherst, sons Carl Jr. (Mary Jo Murray) of Baie Verte, NB and Darren (Bobby Jo) of Oxford, five grandchildren Megan, Autumn, Addy, Alexis and Casey, twin brother Cecil (Irene) of Amherst and sisters Betty Jacklin of Saint John, NB, Gladys Shay of Sussex, NB, Kay Hunter and Bev (Dara) Collins both of Amherst and many nieces and nephews.
Carl was predeceased by a brother Jack and a sister Marilyn Gould.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. all in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst. (667-9906)
Rev. Jonathan Cole will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
