James Arthur Weatherbee, 67, Vulcan Avenue, Sydney, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the Au Cala Unit in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late James and Lillian (Mason) Weatherbee.
James was a well-known mechanic. Until his illness, he owned and operated Weatherbee’s Garage. In earlier years, he enjoyed stockcar racing at Bud’s Speedway. Later in life, he turned his interest to golf. He was a member of Seaview Golf and Country Club, but enjoyed a game of golf anytime, anywhere. James was a great jokester and will always be remembered for his great sense of humour and his love of life. He will be forever in our hearts.
Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Donna (MacAulay); daughter, Laura Lee (Mark) Pentecost; grandchildren, Mark Ryan, Nakita, Nicole, Mikala and Brianna; great-granddaughter, Salerah; brother, Marlowe (Diane); sisters, Diane, Barbara (James) Remy, Vangie (David) Gale; godchildren, Siobhan, Vanessa and Matthew; many nieces and nephews and the Rug Rats.
James was predeceased by daughters, Dawn Michelle and Stacey Nicole.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday 1 p.m. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
