MEUNIER, HERMAS - Hermas Meunier, 79, of Lakeview Manor in Riverview, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on January 31, 1932 in Sainte-Marie, NB, he was the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Bastarache-Meunier. Hermas was an avid fisherman and sportsman. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Geraldine (Roach); nine children: Theresa (Ola), Cecilia (James), Bridget (Leon), Sally (Paul), Doreen, Michelle (Bernie), Peggy (René), Joseph (Danielle) and Richard (Line); 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the last survivor of his immediate family of 12 children. He is predeceased by a son, Raymond, as well as his 11 sisters and brothers. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff of Lakeview Manor for the wonderful care provided to Hermas.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until departure (9:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s R.C.
