Passed peacefully away on August 18, 2009, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s after a short illness, Paul S. Rodgers, age 57. Paul served as a customs inspector for the Canadian Border Service for 34 years in Fortune, Goose Bay and St. John’s and as a Kinsmen for the Happy Valley - Goose Bay and St. John’s East clubs. Paul was predeceased by father Earl and mother Alice (Sally) Rodgers. He leaves to mourn spouse Ivy Blake; brothers: Gordon (Lise), Randy, Earl and Adrian (Emily); sister Diane Jennings and in-laws: Maude Campbell (Gary), Grace Cabot (Joe), Flo Purchase (Peter), Julie Morris, Martha Stagg (Scott), Ethel Probert (Bruce), Francis Blake (Edna), and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's. Visitation on Thursday, August 20th between 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. with the funeral taking place on Friday, August 21st at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mark’s Anglican Church on Logy Bay Road with interment following at Forest Road Cemetery.
