BURNABY, B.C. / LORNE – It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Mae, 79, on April 3, 2009.
Born in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Irene (Dunbar) Peebles.
She was raised in Lorne by her maternal grandparents, John Andrew and Jane Ruth (McRae) Dunbar.
She graduated from Normal College, Truro, and continued her studies at UBC for her teaching degree and her Master’s in Education degree.
She is survived by her son, Brian; daughter-in-law, Grace; and grandchildren, Matthew and Katrina; ex-husband, Gerald; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Nova Scotia.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Tom Peebles; sister, Katherine Altieri.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 25 at 2 p.m. at St. Columba United Church, Hopewell, Rev. Heather Landry officiating. Burial of ashes in St. Columba Cemetery.
Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
