Jean Marie Shepherd – 86, of Aylesford, Kings County, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. She was a daughter of the late Leigh and Eva (Benedict) Rockwell. She was employed with Sawler Gardens, Somerset, from where she retired. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved music, dancing, knitting and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by four children, William Shepherd (Maisie Sarty), Donnellans Brook; Elaine Lewis, Aylesford; Brian Shepherd (Debbie White), Bridgetown; Marilyn (Darrel) Foster, Aylesford; 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Allen, Tammy, Michelle, Amy, Sarah, Suzy, Elizabeth, Rachel, Jeremy and Keegan; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Sharon) Rockwell, Waterville; two sisters, Eunice (Carl) Doherty, Waterville; Thelma Walsh, Grand View Manor, Berwick; special sisters-in-law, Eileen Shepherd, Black Rock; Ruth (Harold) Shiels, Belleville, ON; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen William Shepherd; two brothers, Gordon and Ronald. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, Reverend Leon Langille officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses or the charity of your choice.
