JOHNSON, Shirley (nee Watt)– July 18, 1920 – November 3, 2008, Shirley Johnson of Calgary, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Shirley was born in Wattsview, MB and was raised in Birtle, MB. She moved to Dryden, ON to work at the paper mill. In Dryden she met and married Larry Johnson. Together they owned and operated “Johnson’s Cedar Lake Camp†for 35 years. In 1986 they retired and moved to Summerland, BC. After Larry’s passing Shirley moved to Calgary to be closer to her family. She lived happily at Royal Park till her passing. Shirley is survived by her three daughters Marlene Greey (John), Donna Johnson and SueAnn Morrison (Angus); six grandchildren John Wm, Tory, Ginger, James, Maegen and Ian. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Larry Johnson in 1996; infant daughter Joanne. A Memorial Service will be held Royal Park Retirement Centre (4315 Richardson Road S.W. - Across from Mount Royal College) on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Leaving to mourn her daughter Elizabeth Cooper (Jim); grandson Bruce Cooper (Krista); granddaughter Suzanne Borgaonkar (Mark); great-grandchildren: Rhiannon and Moira Cooper, Claire, Lauren, Allyson and Isaac Borgaonkar; brother David Gunn (Geraldine), Halifax; brothers-in-law: Cyril Marshall (Ruth) and Vivian Marshall (Gwen); nieces and nephews; special friend Ruth Kielley; her friends at Saint Luke’s and a circle of other relatives and friends. At Maisie’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Funeral service will take place from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the General Protestant Cemetery, Waterford Bridge Road.
