It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lawrence Wade (Larry) Matthews announce his passing in Burgeo on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the age of 56 years. He will be sadly missed by his son Lawrence Rose of Stephenville, daughter Shauna Simon of Cape St. George, parents: Donald and Eliza Matthews of Black Duck Siding, one brother Jason (Michelle) Matthews of Meadows, three sisters: Sonia (Jim) Carew of Curling, Jocelyn (James) Vey of Mount Pearl and Cynthia Matthews of Black Duck Siding; three grandchildren: Megan, Morgan, Olivia and his best friend, Sandra Bennett of Stephenville & Sandra’s children: Keith, Teddy, Terry and Sheldon Bennett. He was predeceased by his sister Sheila Lang. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Canon Dawn Barrett officiating with interment to follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to the Janeway Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
