It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Abbie, on August 20, 2009 in St. Peter’s, NS at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (Jim) Mullins, Rick (Greta), Robert (Lynn), Lorraine (Raymond) Ferguson, Audrey (Donald) MacAulay, all of St. Peter’s; Joanne (Don) Pringle, The Points and Ontario, Gary, Lower Sackville, her grandchildren, Duane Horwill, Krista Caldwell, Trevor, Trent and Travis Pringle, Cathy, Jesse and Meghan Wambolt, Jeff MacAulay, Emma Ferguson and great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Cassandra, Douglas, Cassie, Brooke, Alicia, Ryan, Latricia, Emelia, Lauren, Bailey, and Alec. She is also survived by her special cousins, Mag, Annie, Beth, Junior and Bobby.
She was predeceased by her husband, Todd; grandson, Todd and special cousins, Edie, Bertie, Cubby, Stephen and Tiny.
Abbie was a charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #47 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Peter’s and also volunteered with the St. Peter’s and Area Lioness Club, the St. Peter’s Altar Society, St. Peter’s Home and School Association and was a Brownie Leader.
Abbie loved spending time with her family. She was a beautiful seamstress and craft lady. She also thoroughly enjoyed her screened porch, Tiger Woods and most of all bingo.
Special thanks to Abbie’s caregivers, first and foremost her special daughter, Lynn and to Mary and Evelyn, Richmond County Home Care, Dr. Taraq, Strait Richmond Hospital staff and her dear friends and neighbors, Liz, Nan, Lucy and Dana.
May the winds of love blow softly and whisper so you’ll hear we will always love and miss you and wish that you were here. There is a link death cannot sever, love and remembrance last forever.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Alex A. Morrison Funeral Home, St. Peter’s. Visitation will be held at the River Bourgeois Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 24, 2009, 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, River Bourgeois with Fr. Everett McDow officiating. Interment at a later date.
