The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, May 16, 2011, of Marilyn Doreen Griffith of Summerside, aged 66 years, beloved wife of Wayne Griffith. Marilyn was born in Summerside on Sept 21, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Chester D. MacKay of Park Corner and of Evelyn “Ruth” Campbell of Irishtown, now residing at MacEwen Mews, Margate. Dear mother of Steven, Ottawa, and Susan (Trevor) Brown of St Peters, Cape Breton, N.S. Loving grandmother to Alex, Devon and Riley Griffith of Ottawa and to Madison Brown of St. Peters. Marilyn was a graduate of Kensington High School and Prince County Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1965. Over the years, Marilyn provided strong, loving support to her husband and family as they were posted to various locations in Canada and overseas with the Canadian Forces. After 33 years on the road, Marilyn and Wayne returned to their favourite Island and settled in Summerside. Marilyn was an active member of the Summerside Area Garden Club and took great pride in volunteering at the PCH Garden. Her winters were spent creating fine watercolours or with a good book. A graveside committal service at the Geddie Memorial Cemetery, Spring Brook, will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington.
