Stanley Oram
ORAM, STANLEY - The death of Stanley Charles Oram, loving husband of Letitia (Porter) Oram, occurred peacefully on Thursday May 19, 2011 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born 1915 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Frederic Stanley and Mae (Ducey) Oram. Stanley was a Veteran of WWII serving in the RCAF. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 53 and Glen View United Church. Stanley worked for NB Publishing Telegraph Journal in the press room, retiring in 1980. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his loving wife Letitia of 67 ½ years, he is survived by his sons DeVern Charles Oram of Hampton and Barry Lee Oram (Susan) of Red Head; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers William and Edward; sisters Albertha McLaughlin and Mildred Phillips; daughter-in-law Darlene (Brown) Oram.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Friday May 20, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Glen View United Church on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
