Donald Taylor
TAYLOR: Donald Arthur Hutchings Taylor,74 years of age, passed away on May 17, 2011, at Swift Current, SK. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., May 20, 2011 from the First United Church, Swift Current, with Shirley Wilson officiating. The organist for the service was Patti McCleary. The soloist was a "Guitar Tribute" by Mark Taylor(Grandson), together with vocalists, Michelle Turgeon Taylor and Kelsey Taylor (grandchildren). Eulogist readers were Daryl Taylor, Scott Taylor, Sean Hyndman and Caitlyn Hyndman (grandchildren). The interment service will be held at a later date. The honorary pallbearers were Les and Edna King, Lloyd and Darlene Bymoen, Walt and Dorothy Bragg and Syl and Helen Hagan. Don was survived by his second wife, Emma Deobald, his son Vince Taylor (Brenda), children, Daryl Taylor and Scott Taylor, and great grandson Owen Taylor; his daughter Vonda Hyndman (Craig), children, Sean Hyndman and Caitlyn Hyndman; his son Van Taylor, children Mark Taylor and Kelsey Taylor, and Michelle Turgeon Taylor. Don was also survived by his sisters Pat Ost (Oscar), Calgary, AB. Helen Bailey, Finch, ON. and Jean Scott, Wetaskawin, AB, brother, Ronald Taylor, Gull Lake, SK. as well as his sisters-in-law, Olive Hutchings, Victoria, BC, Ruby Hutchings, Wetaskawin, AB, Vicki Hutchings Hawkes, Kelowna, BC. He was also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Floyd and Darlene Steele, and his sister-in-law, Sharon Gietz, aunts Mae Taylor of Swift Current and Phyllis Taylor, Of Gull Lake as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was predeceased by his wife, Ardyce Taylor in 2000, by his parents, Will and Ellen Hutchings (in a boating accident in 1940). Don was also predeceased by his adopted parents, Harold and Marjorie Taylor, who adopted him when he was three and a half years old and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester and Hazel Jensen. brother-in-law Keith Gietz sister in law Joyce Taylor. Don came from a large family and was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters (Hutchings).
Don was born in Turtleford, SK. on December 3, 1936. He attended school in Clairbank and then The Swift Current Colegiate Institute, Swift Current, SK. Don married Ardyce Lena Jensen on August 22, 1958. After her passing, Don married Emma Deobald on September 1, 2005. Don was employed in the early years at Dual Plumbing and then moved on the the Swift Current Research Staton as a sheet metal worker, until his retirement. He was a member of the Swift Current Curling Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Lac Pelletier Regional Gof Course. Don had a zest for life. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing hardball, square dancing, fishing and socializing with friends and family. There were always many laughs when he was around. He was a kind, loving, gentle and caring man. Don spent many hours with his children whether it was sitting in the seat of his boat towing water skier's, fishing or just enjoying a cruise around the lake. Don would help anyone out. He enjoyed spending his time travelling south to Arizona in the winters as well as spending quality time with all of his grandchildren.
