BROWN, Florena Cavell – 68, Truro, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born March 31, 1943, Belle Island, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus and Bertha (Mercer) Rees. She attended Bass River Baptist Church. Florena is survived by her son, Gordon; step-daughters, Shirley, Margaret; brother, Myles Rees; sister-in-law, Rose Rees. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Brown; daughter, Inez Cavell Nippard; brothers, Graham and George Rees. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2011. Funeral service and interment in Robie Street Cemetery will be private. If so desired, donations in Florena’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation are welcomed.
