It is with great sadness that the family of the late Florence Fitzgerald (nee Retieffe) announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Friday, May 20, 2011, at the age of 72 years. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband John and her six children: Myron (Joanne) Fitzgerald of DeGrau; Gloria (Melvin) Young of Sackville, Nova Scotia; Brenda (Norm) Gillis of Sydney, Nova Scotia; Dale (Keith) Reynolds of Winnipeg, Manitoba; Colleen (Lloyd) Kendall of Bedford, Nova Scotia; Blair (Michelle) Fitzgerald of Brampton, Ontario; and five brothers: Len, Lloyd, Myron, Kevin, Leslie and their spouses; four sisters: Evelyn, Elaine, Yvonne, Doreen and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Yvonne Retieffe and her sister, Verna Campbell. Cremation has taken place and a private family Funeral Service and Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Stephenville.
