It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney Bennett announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 in his 75th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Marie (nee Ellsworth); his daughters: Trudy (Tony Caines), Portland Creek, Norma (Don Hynes), Cow Head, Marion (Gabriel Payne), Swan Hills, Alberta; his sons: Lee (Lewena), St. Paul’s, Alvin (Trena), St. Paul’s; his grandchildren: Derrick, Dana, Scott, Tyler, Gavin, Samantha, Katherine, Andrea-Lee, Dylan, Andre, Amy-Lee, Shania and Skye; his three great-grandchildren: Kevin, Hanna and Cynthia; his three sisters: Venie Pittman, St. Paul’s, Doylie Caines, Three Mile Rock and Emma Bishop, Ontario; his extended family and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lydia Bennett; his sister, Elsie; his brothers: Clyde and Lorne; his brothers-in-law: Campbell, Fred and Elias; his daughter-in-law, Mary; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Evelyn Ellsworth. The family will be receiving family and friends from his residence in St. Paul’s, from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jean Brenton-Hickman officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in St. Paul’s. In lieu of flowers, donation to the charity of one’s choice, in memory of Sidney, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
