Passed peacefully away at the Waterford Hospital, on Saturday, May 5, 2018, Gladys Corcoran (nee Saunders), of Riverhead, St. Mary's Bay, aged 86 years. Predeceased by husband Maurice, son Rick (Heather) and grandson Kevin; daughter Irene and granddaughter Kimberley; infant sons: Clarence, Johnny and Patrick, parents Clarence & Susan Saunders; brothers: Ben, Saul, Harold and Thomas; sisters: Kathleen, Mary, Millie, Shirley and Madonna and son-in-law Richard Foley. Leaving to mourn daughters: Barbara, Lucy (Ron), Clarice and Amelia (Carter), sons Fabian (Sharron) and Doug (Florence), brother Bert (Jean), 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, devoted homecare worker Agnes Squires and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A very special thank you is extended to the wonderful staff at the Waterford Hospital who took great care of Mom during her brief stay. Resting at Gibbons' Funeral Home, St. Mary's, on Sunday, May 6, from 7 - 9pm and Monday, May 7, 2 - 4pm; 7 - 9pm (no visitation on Tuesday). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 8, at 10am, at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Riverhead. Burial to follow at Riverhead.
