It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our beloved father, Raymond Powell at Harbourstone Nursing Home.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Emily Powell. He grew up in Ashby and was employed as a welder with Sydney Steel for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his two sons Raymond (Anshalee) and Morrison (Sandra); and two daughters Raylene (Basil) and Darlene (Steve); 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother Fred (Diane); sister Blanche and predeceased by brothers Thomas, Norman, Willis, Donnie and Lorne.
Visitation will take place from 2-3 p.m. Monday, May 23 at the SW Chant and Son Funeral Home Chapel 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Richardson officiating.
