It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Ann Delores Thomas (nee MacKinnon) announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the age of 66 years.
Born September 6, 1951 in North Sydney, NS. Ann was the daughter of the late Neil and Eleanor MacKinnon.
She was also predeceased by her husband, Lloyd in 2013; mother and father-in-law, George and Clara Thomas; sisters-in-law, Ethel Barnes, Ella Munden and brother-in-law, Arthur Thomas.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son, Trevor (Heidi) Thomas of Port aux Basques, NL; daughter, Nicole (Edgar) Thomas of Fort McMurray, AB; step-son, George Thomas of Halifax, NS; step-daughter, Cathy (Lewis) Matthews of Port aux Basques, NL; grandchildren, Jasmine Thomas, Logan Thomas, Cory Matthews, Christopher Matthews, Ryan Allen; great-grandchildren, Jaden Giles, Emily Matthews; sisters, Georgina (Dougie) MacNeil of George's River, Cape Breton, Sandra MacKinnon of Niagara Falls, Ont; brothers, Greg (Marie France) MacKinnon of Beaumont, AB, Neil (Ann Marie) MacKinnon of Little Pond, Cape Breton, Darrel MacKinnon of Sydney Mines, Cape Breton; brother-in-law, Lewellen Munden, Roland Barnes; sister-in-law, Marie Thomas all of Port aux Basques, NL and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In keeping with Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory can be made to the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Long Term Care Facility, Port aux Basques, NL or charity of one’s choice.
A memorial service will be held in Sydney Mines in the near future.
