Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, August 23, 2009, Fred Evans, WWII Veteran, 166 Royal Artillery, Member Royal Canadian Legion Branch I, in his 87th year. Predeceased by his brother Joe, sister Louise and her husband Edgar Boone and step-brother Bill Walker. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 63 years Edna (nee Bishop), daughter Diane (Walter) Follett, Wayne, Terry (Carol), and Howard (Glenda); step-brothers: Warrick and Vic Walker and step-sister Lillian; Special nieces and nephew, Joyce (Freeman) Boone, Winnie and Annie Boone, Neil (Una) Boone; Grandchildren: Stephen (Shannon) Follett, David Evans, Jennifer Sellars and Dianna Evans; Great-Grandchildren: Daniel and Adam Follett and Ashley Sellars. Special friends Pat and Betty Newell; as well as a large number of extended family and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue; Visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Wesley United Church.
