Ruby Hollis
HOLLIS, RUBY A. - Ruby A. Hollis, 91, of Fairlane Dr. and formerly of Edgett Ave., Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, May 21, 2011, following a brief illness. Born in Ammon, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Martha (McFeters) Horsman. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a member of Parkside Baptist for over 62 years, member of the Parkside Senior’s Association and the Lois Winters W.M.S. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, hooking rugs, reading, doing jig saw puzzles, spending time at the family cottage in Edgewater and precious time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruby will be sadly missed by her daughters, Dorothy Crossman (Gary) of Turtle Creek, Marilyn McKelvey (Carl) of Magog, PQ, Gail Kelly (Gary) of Glenvale, Beverly Hollis (Terry Steeves) of Moncton, Ronald Hollis (Loretta) of Ammon, Steven Hollis (Nancy) of Cole Harbour, NS; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Jean Steeves of the Glades; sister in law, Mildred Horsman of Ammon; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Hollis (1996), son, Wayne, grandchildren, Sharon and Angela and brother, Victor Horsman.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral Service to be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 1:30pm with Pastor Matthew Porter officiating. Reception following the service.
