MAYER, KENNETH - Kenneth E. Mayer, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, May 21, 2011, after waging a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Gunningsville, he was the son of the late Jack Sr. and Bertha (Bishop) Mayer. Kenneth was a well known businessman who for many years ran his own HVAC Sales and Service business. He was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Tiferes Israel Synagogue and was an active member of the Moncton Jewish Community. He was a life member and past executive member of the Moncton Gun Club and was a man of many talents. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman, master carpenter, learner, horse trainer, artist, collector, sportsman and patron of Jewish community events, he will be missed by his family and many friends. Kenneth will be sadly missed by his wife, Joan (Budd) Mayer; daughters, Sharon Mayer (Steve Jenkins) of Ottawa, ON and Joann Black (Rod Pollock) of Riverview; grandchildren, Jason Black of Moncton, Carrie Ricker of Halifax, NS; great grandson, Spencer; sister, Carol Mayer of Riverview and many extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, John and brother, Jack.
No visitation hours. Funeral Service will be held at Tiferes Israel Synagogue, Steadman Street on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 2:00pm. Interment will be held in Tiferes Israel Cemetery, Dieppe.
