Peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 21, 2011, aged 83 years. Dearly beloved wife of Kenneth for 60 beautiful years. Forever in our hearts, peacemaker, artist, poet, gentle and kind, loving mother to Heather MacKenzie (Nigel Martin) of Montreal, Janice Hansis (Richard) of Burlington, Kenneth MacKenzie (Diana) of Hamilton, Lynn MacKenzie Stephen (Robert) of Oakville, Elizabeth MacKenzie and David MacKenzie both of Burlington. Proud grandmother of Jeffrey and Peter Lee, Jason Hansis, Lyndsey and Katie Loiacono, Meghan and Lauren Paton and Jessie Creighton. Great-grandmother of Aidan Castonguay Lee. Beloved sister of Katherine MacDonald, Claire Howes, Lorraine Frieberger, Ernest Roche, Virginia Bernatchez and “little sister” to Marie José Overweel. Predeceased by her sisters Mary Stearns and Elaine Bouchard. Visitation at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of QEW) Burlington, ON. (905-632-3333) on Tuesday, May 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens.
