The death occurred peacefully with family at her side, at the Prince Edward Home, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, of Grace Bransfield (nee MacDonald), of Rennies Road, beloved wife of the late John Joseph Gallant and Harvey T. Bransfield, age 103.
Grace was the beloved mother of Mark (Margaret Howard), Lawson (Gail), Faustina Simoneau (Paul), Etta Doiron, Everett C. (Florence Hughes), Emmy Gagnon (Jim), Pauline Walsh (Emeric) and Rose Mary MacDonald (Bliss). She was the cherished grandmother of Paul and Brent Gallant, Jeannette Sherman, Dawn Gallant and Colleen MacLellan; Mary Rose, Jacinta, Lynn and Peter Gallant and Olivia Colborne; John and Walter Murphy; Alex, Gregory, Grace and Anne Doiron and Ida Maund; Gordon and Heather Gallant; Stephen, George and Catherine Walsh; and Darren MacDonald and Lynn Lloyd; great-grandmother of Crystal, James, Candace, Brian, Ricky, Samantha, Kristin, Chad, Nathan, Mia Grace, Billy, Nicolle, Joel, Dawn Marie, Carter, Daniel, Emmit, Kelsey, Brandon, Kendell, and Danielle; and great-great-grandmother of Natalia, Lucas and Alexes. Grace was a stepmother of eight; a special friend to Dorathea Mullock; and devoted foster mother of 25, Besides her two husbands, John Gallant and Harvey Bransfield, Grace was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Gallant (Nichol); sons-in-law, Greg Doiron and Linus Murphy;grandchildren, Eddy Gallant and Jordan Gallant; grand-son-in-law, Ronnie MacLellan and brothers and sisters, Cecilia, Clifford, Joseph, Mark, Christine, Emmeline, Stella and Alice.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, August 27, 2009, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
The CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment in St. Augustine’s Church Cemetery.
Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
