It is with immense sadness with broken hearts, we announce the passing of David Farrell (Poppy) (Bunt) on July 25, 2018 at home due to a massive heart attack. Born in Sydney on October 18, 1954, he was the son of the late Michael and Kathleen Farrell of Sydney Forks, NS.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Heather (Samways); daughter, Gail (Jolley) Morris, Marcia (Andrew) Lafford; step-children, Nena Whitty (Maxx Marrs), Sheldon Whitty, Darin Gautier (Tina), Brian Gautier (Brittany Gwynn); daughter-in-law, Natasha Gautier, and chosen daughter, Kim Marks (Shane, Morgan and Emma). Dave will also be missed by his grandchildren, Willis, Jody, Trista, Storm, Jacklyn, Kay, Blayne, and Irelyn; chosen grandson, Devin Troke; as well as great-grandchildren, Pierce, Jaxton, Kye, and Ezmay. They were all very precious to him and will miss him dearly. He is also survived by siblings, Michael (Cathy), Ed (Thelma), Pat (Cathy), Lawrence (Jane), Diane (John), Kevin (Leslie), Doug (Noreen), Judy; brother-in-law, Dale (Donna) Samways, and by the mother of his children, Rhodena Stevens.
Dave was a long standing proud member of East Bay Legion, Branch 151. He worked as a heavy equipment operator all his life and he always worked hard for his family. Poppy was always willing to drop everything and help anyone and his kind heart will be sadly missed by everyone.
Visitation will take place 2-4 & 7-9 Monday, July 30, 2018 in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home. A service to celebrate his life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev Sheldon Chant officiating.

Special thanks to EHS, the police, the medical examiner, Dr. Hatim Malik, Dr. Mohan Virick (Mabel Ann), and the organ tissue team who were all so professional and kind. Special thanks to our wonderful neighbours and loved ones for their support during this sad time.
Rest in peace my darling husband and precious “Poppy”. We will miss and love you forever.
