It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our brother Joe Andrew MacDonald at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Andrew John MacDonald and Mary Elizabeth (Currie) MacDonald.
He was a laborer by trade but Joe’s passion was listening and playing music, and watching sports, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe is survived by his sister, Annie MacDonald; two brothers, Hugh and Michael MacDonald, all of MacAdam’s Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Michael Gregory MacDonald in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place Thursday, May 26 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay, with Fr. Frank Abbass officiating, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name can be made to the St. Mary’s Renovation Fund, or a charity of choice.
