Anne Bernadine (nee Hughes) Campbell, R.N.
Passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth II in Halifax, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, May 22, 2011, Bernadine "Bernie" Campbell (Hughes) of Charlottetown, age 83 years. Wife of the late Louis Campbell and loving mother of Edward (Shana) of Halifax, N.S., David (Heather) of Cornwall and Louanne (Stephen) Midgley of Coquitlam, B.C. Very proud and grateful Nanna of Owen & Dylan, Sarah & Ryan, Leah & Noah. Left to mourn are sisters Eulalia Corrigan, Sister Georgina Hughes, C.N.D. and Patricia Carr and special friend Brighton. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Annie (MacAulay) Hughes, sisters Freda Hughes, Mary Marcotte, Sister Catherine Hughes, S.S.A., Sister Anita Hughes S.S.A., Margaret Morrison, Sister Rita Hughes C.N.D. and Sister Theresa Hughes C.S.M.; brothers Patrick Hughes, Justin Hughes, Joseph Hughes, Fred Hughes Jr. and Ray Hughes. She also leaves to mourn her in-laws Marie Hughes, Charlie and Pauline Campbell, Anne and Gene Kenny and Helen Murnaghan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Anyone who knew Mom was considered her friend. Her warm spirit and beautiful smiling face endeared her to many. She was truly one-of-a-kind and could always be counted on for support, guidance and friendship. She will be sadly missed by all. We love you Mom. Pray for us. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until Friday morning then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery,Charlottetown. Visiting hours on Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Nurses Alumnae will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the CanadianCancer Society.
