It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michael Waters MacFarlane, of Westville, formerly of Durham, at home, on August 4, 2018.

Born in Pictou, August 30, 1945, Mike was the eldest son of the late William Donald and Constance Coralie (Waters) MacFarlane.

Mike was very mechanically-minded and if he wasn’t found driving a truck, he could be found immersed, head and shoulders under the hood of one. He was a former member of the Alma Volunteer Fire Dept. and a keen adherent of the local Timmy’s 6 a.m. coffee crowd.

Surviving are his three children, Michelle MacFarlane, Fredericton, NB, Sherri (Sheldon Doucette) MacFarlane, Berwick, NS and Trevor (Patti Mancini) MacFarlane, Truro, NS; nine grandchildren, Chris, Nikki, Marissa, Brett, Brody, Gage, Mikayla, Blaikely; brother, Steve (Lynda) MacFarlane, sisters, Sheila (Jim) Livingston, Leslie (Luke) West, Sylvia (Bob) Love and Coralie (Joe) Casey; close friend Alice Carrigan and six chosen grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Michael Shawn, and his youngest brother, Jeffrey Paul.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. In respect of Mike’s wishes, (stubborn to the very end), there will be no visitation or service. A private family gathering will be held at a future date for interment of ashes. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
