It is with heavy hearts our family announce the passing of our father, Bernie, age 80 on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Glace Bay hospital with family by his side.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Henry and Rose Seward.
He is survived by sons, Joseph, Raymond and Gary (Darlene); grandchildren, Olivia, Adam, Susan, Amy, Jeffrey, Patty and Stephen.
Sonny also leaves behind sisters, Doreen Parsons, Ethel Stashuk and brother, Bobby Seward.
Besides his parents, Bernie was predeceased by his wife, Alice; companion, Cecilia; daughter, Alice; sons, Bernie; brothers, Clarence, Henry, and Raymond in infancy; sister, Rose Winters.
As per Sonny’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday August 27, 2018 with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiating. A luncheon will follow the service all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
