Mary Jessica Faith Hartling
Port Edward, B.C. – Pictou County, N.S. – Sherbrooke, N.S.
Mary Jessica FAITH, 15 years old, daughter of Jessica Rhynold of Port Edward, B.C., Adam Hartling of Alberta, step-daughter of Derek Rhynold was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on April 09, 2011, in Port Edward, B.C.
She is survived by brothers, Troy, Cole, Kalem and sisters, Emily and Chelsea; grandparents Lennie and Susan Jordan, Sherbrooke: Ray and Bernadette MacLellan, Westville; great-grandmothers, Mildred Whidden, New Glasgow and Marion Jordan, Sherbrooke.
Faith was a beautiful, intelligent and athletic young lady who was a shining light for all who knew her.
Her memorial service in Port Edward, B.C. was officiated by Rev. Keith Gaetz on April 13. Tributes were read by her classmates from there and from St. Mary’s Academy, Sherbrooke. Her Aunt Mary of Edmonton and grandmother Susan of Sherbrooke spoke testimonies of their love. Her Grandfather Lennie and Aunt Mary led Faith’s friends in the hymn Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.
At the same time, a family memorial gathering was led by Rev. Jim Webber Cook at the home of, Mildred Whidden, New Glasgow.
Burial took place in Prince Rupert, B.C
Students of St. Mary’s Academy are holding a walk-a-thon on June 03, with funds raised to provide a scholarship to a student of that school – in honor of Faith. A stone will be placed in the school memorial park in her memory.
