It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Harry M. Clarke, age 74, a resident of Brook Street, on Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of the late Harry and Veronica Clarke.
Harry worked in construction and was a member of the Pipefitters Union, Local #682.
He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Joanne (Wayne) Forrest and Verna (Brendon) Brewer, both of North Sydney; his three grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Shannon (Kevin), Halifax, Tammy (Jeff), Sackville and Mason at home; his sisters, Leona (George) Smith, North Sydney, June (Jack) Williams, Ontario, Veronica (Harrol) Pearson, Oklahoma; his brothers, Bud Clarke, Rollie (Lynn) Clarke, both of North Sydney, Reg (Sherry) Clarke, Sackville and Ed (Pam) Clarke, Fall River and many nieces and nephews. Harry is also survived by his loving companion, Colleen and her two sons, Trevor (Sharon) Poulain, Windsor, N.S. and Sandy (Cecilia) Poulain and their children Kaitlyn and James, Halifax.
He was predeceased by his sisters-in-law, Betty Clarke and Rose Mary Clarke and brother-in-law, Keith Fraser.
Visitation for Harry will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jake Andrea officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
