It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Judy Beaton of Sydney on August 25, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 25, 1949 in Sydney, Judy was the daughter of the late William and Theresa Beaton.
Judy was a loving mother, partner, grandmother, sister and friend.
She had a heart of gold and was loved by many. She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 151, East Bay. She loved darts, shuffleboard, softball, dancing and singing. She was a long-time employee of the Cape Breton Victoria Regional school board as a teacher's Aid.
Judy is survived by her loving partner, Don (Jack) Eddy; daughter, Lois (Graham) Hann, New Glasgow and son, Allan (Nicole) Ley, Howie Centre. Loving Nanny to Makenna and Kelsey Hann and AJ and Cameron Ley; sisters, Beverly (Mike) Dinn and Barbara (John) Bagnell; brothers, Kenny (Florence) and Robert (Joanne); sister-in-law, Sheila Beaton and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Ruthven and brothers, Art, Jimmy, and Jackie.
We the family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the ICU Dept of the CBRH for their wonderful care of our mom.
Cremation has taken place, funeral service will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. at S.W. Chants and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. in Sydney, with reception to follow.
Memorial donations can be made to the Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
