The death occurred at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, on Monday, May 23, 2011 of Tannie Tjepkema, wife of the late Rit, formerly of Oyster Bed Bridge and the Netherlands, age 86.
Tannie was the beloved mother of Jetty van Nieuwenhuyzen (Peter), Siety Phillips (Stephen), Cobie de Boer (Willem), Johanna Brink (Terry) and the late Hilda de Boer. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Rosa Visser (Henry), Janneke Bakker (Shawn) and Willem (Angela), Rit (Erica) and Phillip (Karina) van Nieuwenhuyzen; Joe Brink, Tanya Jones (Ryan), Heather Kim (Seung Jin) and Melissa de Jager (Peter); Randall (Heather) and Rit-Jan (Jacintha) de Boer, Jane Arendse (Bas) and Christine Gamble (Tim); Ritske, Trienke, Rinse (Jennifer), Klaas and Feije de Boer; and Clint Brink (Nancy), Celeste Little (Nathan), Crystal MacDonald (Bennett) and Clay (Jenna) and Caleb Brink; and 32 great-grandchildren. Tannie is also survived by her sister, Hilde de Haan, the Netherlands; and her son-in-law, Klaas de Boer and his wife, Shirley.
The funeral will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, Mount Edward Road, Charlottetown, Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Tannie’s memory to Christians for Israel Canada would be appreciated.
