NEW GLASGOW – Elliott Lester Brennan, 77, New Glasgow, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Plymouth, he was a son of the late Lesley Ernest and Ivy (Wright) Brennan. Prior to retirement, he had been employed with the former Trenton Works for 39 years and previously with the former Eastern Woodworkers. Elliott enjoyed woodworking and took great pride in looking after his property in Plymouth. He had many fond memories from the times spent at his log cabin in Meiklefield. He enjoyed listening to old-time music and playing the fiddle. He and Katie enjoyed many drives throughout the county and province. Elliott appreciated the staff and patrons at Eastside Restaurant, New Glasgow, where he always had a joke to share.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Katherine K. “Katie” (Munroe); sister, Doris Garvie, Antigonish; brother, Harry (Jean) Brennan, Elgin; sister-in-law, Loise Brennan, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Everett; brother-in-law, Joe Garvie.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
