Maria Kovach
KOVACH (Neudorf) - Maria Kovach, age 93 of Herbert, Sk and formerly of Swift Current, passed away May 7, 2011 at the Heritage Manor in Herbert, Sk. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2011 from Community Baptist Church, Swift Current, Sk. with Pastor Joell Haugan officiating. The organist was Loreen Wiebe. Life Tribute was presented by Mary Peters and pallbearers were Vern Peters, Dennis Peters, Stan Peters, Ken Peters, Dave Peters and Dennis Olfert. The interment service took place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park. Maria was born in Dunelm, Sk on May 3, 1918. She attended school in Dunelm. Maria married Jacob Neudorf on Oct 9, 1938 in Swift Current. She worked at various jobs but her main interest was taking care of her family and home. After Jacobs passing, she was married to Steve Kovach on February 14, 1975 in Kippling, Sk. She was a member of the church auxiliary and in her spare time enjoyed gardening, attending church, bird watching and embroidery. Maria was born a triplet and was the last surviving of the three, brother Henry and sister Tina. She loved gardening, especially flowers and enjoyed the many things nature provided and as she would say; "The glorious things God created". Maria is survived by her children; daughter; Rose Marie Neudorf; son Terry (Bonnie) Neudorf and their children Jason (Breanne) Williams and thier son Carson, Kellie (Alex) Witzke; sister Susie Thiessen and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents David and Sarah Peters; spouses Jacob Neudorf and Steve Kovach; brothers Jacob, John, David, Pete, Henry, Bill and Abe; sisters Sarah Wall, Agatha Wiebe, Anne Thiessen and Tina Leiding. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. In her memory, memorial donation may be made to the Palliser Regional Care Centre Auxiliary.
