COMBLEY, DOROTHY GLADYS - 1923 - 2011 - The death of Dorothy Gladys Combley, 87, occurred on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Saint John, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Stanley and Florence (Oakes) Hargreaves. Dorothy has her 50 year pin from the IODE and is a long time member of the Altar Guild with St. Paul's Anglican Church. She was a faithful member of her bridge club for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling but in particular, enjoyed her cottage at Heather's Beach. She will be sadly missed by two daughters, Carol (Hart) Swedersky of Sackville and Joan Randall of Petitcodiac; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a niece, Sue Hargreaves and one nephew, Paul (Kay) Hargreaves. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her late husband, Robert; two brothers, Sydney and Norman and a son-in-law, Robert Randall.
Dorothy's remains have been cremated under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Saturday, May 28, 2011. A memorial service for Dorothy will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, May 29, 2011 from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Sackville. The Right Reverend George Lemmon, The Former Bishop Of Fredericton officiating. Interment will be at the Fairhaven Memorial Gardens on Monday.
