Passed in: SYDNEY, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: August 23rd, 2009
On Sunday, August 23, 2009, our beloved sister (and our mother), passed away in a tragic house fire.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Catherine Ann MacKenzie. One of the joys of Frances' life was spending time with her granddaughters making 'nansicles' and cooking Sunday dinner for her family. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time in Red Islands with her Mom and siblings. Frances was a very giving person and always told everyone that she loved them.
Left to mourn is her daughter, Joni; son-in-law, Derek and granddaughters, Caileigh, Courtney and Jessica; siblings, Donna (Bernie) Currie, Barry (Luella), Sandy (Denise), Celine Chipman, Michael (Danette), John (Helen Reid), Margaret Ann (Gary Krszwda); godson Ryan Currie; godmother Sadie MacPhee and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who loved her dearly.
Frances was predeceased by her 'Little Angel', her daughter, Joline Melissa Stoddard (1998); her mother, Catherine Ann MacKenzie; her father, Lawrence A. MacKenzie (1998) and her brother-in-law, Raymond Chipman (2006).
Visitation for Frances MacKenzie will take place on Monday, August 31, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Gerald Dunphy officiating.
