It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Rosalie MacLean, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
Born in Alder Point on Aug. 14, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mary (Deveaux) Thurbide.
She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Bras d’Or.
She loved to spend time with her family, and her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She was always full of love and full of life. There are no words to describe how sadly she will be missed by everyone.
Rosie will be sadly missed by her husband, Leonard MacLean; children, John, Iris (Charlie Taylor), Angela (Troy Robertson), Robert, Jimmy (Sara), Michelle (Bob MacDonald), Evangeline and Billy Joe; her grandchildren, Dylan, Brady, Jorja, Shania, Chase and Connor. Rosie is also survived by brothers, John (Donna), Edward and Emerson; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Rosie was predeceased by her brother, Agustine and sister, Evangeline.
Visitation for Rosalie MacLean will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home today (Friday, May 27, 2011) from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Donations in Rosie’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
