DAFOE, Darryl Robert. March 15, 1968 – May 13, 2011. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Darryl who died at the age of 43 years following a brief and brave battle with cancer. Darryl was born and raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan where he graduated from high school and went on to graduate from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Engineering. He made his home in Calgary where he was employed by Encana and Cenovus prior to his death. Darryl was a sport enthusiast who enjoyed participating in many sports. He particularly enjoyed water skiing and spent many summer vacations at the family cottage on Lac Pelletier. He was a friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who shared in his life. Darryl is survived by his wife Norma; son Drayden; step son Gustavo; brother Larry; parents Bob and Dorothy; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by grandparents Clayton and Gladys Dafoe; Herbert and Eva Jones; and his aunt Isla. A Celebration of Darryl's Life was held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca
