Ena "Joan" Colbourne
COLBOURNE, ENA “JOAN” - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan Colbourne of Oromocto, NB announce her death at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday, May 25th, 2011. Born in Corner Brook, NL on November 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Annie Blanche (Borden) Fudge and wife of Roy Colbourne. Joan worked for many years as a civilian on Base but in her spare time she loved to knit, crochet, read, bake and of course, shop. She was highly devoted to her family and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. Joan will be missed by her husband of 55 years, Roy; her daughters, Kimberley Colbourne of Oromocto, NB and Karen Colbourne (Steve Mills) of Waasis, NB; her grandchildren, Gregory Colbourne of Oromocto, NB and Tamara Colbourne of Waasis, NB; her great-granddaughter, Storm Ena Joan Colbourne of Waasis, NB; brothers, Ted (Leona), Monty (Josephine) and Ernest “Jerry” (Sylvia) all of Corner Brook, NL and Wayne (Marie) of PEI; sisters, Doris Thorne of New Jersey, USA, Bonita Tucker of Corner Brook, NL, Major Linda Barrett (Major Maxwell) of Blaketown, NL and Pauline White (Wayne Lumsden) of Corner Brook, NL as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her only son, Greg in 2004; her parents; brother, Bruce and sisters, Elinore and Shirley.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St. (357-5100) on Monday, May 30th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bob McDowell officiating. Interment will be held at a late date in the Mount Patricia Salvation Army Cemetery in Corner Brook, NL.
