WINSOR, LILLIAN of Wesleyville, age 99 yrs, Honorary Life Member of the United Church Women of Canada, passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home in St. John’s on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008. Beloved mother of Pauline (Victor) Murrin, St. John’s and daughters Brenda (Gerald) Squires, Wanda (Laurence) Davis, Judith, Janice and Gail; of Madeline (Austin) King, Hickman’s Harbour and daughters Pamela (George) Baker and Crystal (Robert) Smith; Earl (Rosalind), Windsor Junction, N.S. and children Geraldine (Randall) Green, Tom (Manon) and Terry (Heather); Aaron (Judith), Scarborough, Ont. and children Yvonne and Christopher; Calvin, Burnaby B.C. and children Nicole, Jason (and their mother Judy White) and Travis. Loving great-grandmother of Desirée, Steven and Alexander Squires; Norah Lillian and Benjamin Davis; Adam Murrin; Craig Baker (Holly), Carla (Leroy) Reid; Randi Green; Tommy, Troy and Tyler Winsor; Matthew Burn, Holly and Colten Winsor and Gabrielle Mitchell. Great-great-grandmother to Alicia and Kaylee Reid. Sister-in-law to Elizabeth Piccott, Violet Winsor and Frances Winsor. Aunt Lil will be missed by her nieces and nephews of the Andrews, Brown, Piccott and Winsor families, cousins and many dear friends. Lillian was born in Brookfield, Bonavista Bay on July 10, 1909. The last surviving child of Geraldine (Gaulton) and Aaron Piccott (Pickett) of Brookfield/Fair Island. She was predeceased by husband Sidney in 1974, brothers John and Raymond, sisters Mabel Winsor and Emily Brown and five other siblings in early childhood, as well as great granddaughter Jessica Winsor. Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. Visitation hours Nov. 9 (Sunday) 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.; Nov. 10 (Monday) 10 a.m. to 12 noon, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Nov. 11 (Tuesday) 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service at Jubilee United Church in Wesleyville Nov. 11 (Tuesday) 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, George Street United Church Outreach program or your local food bank.
