Gertrude (Gertie) Annie Green passed away at Extendicare on August 25. Born in Swift Current in 1912 to George & Mabel Williams, the family moved to their homestead in the Wallard district in 1913. She attended Tweed School and enjoyed her childhood with her sister Muriel growing up in a pioneer community along the Pinto Creek. Gertie married Bill Green in 1934 and they ran a machine shop in Wallard, later moving to Aneroid where they ran Green\'s Machine Shop and the International Harvester dealership. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1956. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed many wedding dresses and dozens of costumes for ice skating and dance competitions. She worked at Woolco in the yard goods department from when the store first opened until her retirement. Gertie loved to visit with her many friends and relatives and always had lots of entertaining stories. She was a football fan and followed the Central Cyclones and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Gertie loved her garden and spent many hours in the raspberry patch. She was always busy with crafts, knitting, painting and cooking. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Campbell (Jack) of Calgary, grandchildren, Lynda Campbell-Davies (Mervyn) and their children Liam and Brendan; Rod Campbell (Joan) and children Ryley and Anna and Jim Campbell (Marianne) and children Jamie and Madeline; her son, Dave Green of Moose Jaw and his family, Kelsey O\'Brien, as well as nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 10:30 am in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Della Ferguson will officiate. Internment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw, S6H 7K7, would be appreciated. In living memory of Gertie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J.
