Gilroy, Michael Douglas - 64, West Leicester, passed away peacefully at home with family at his side on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Born in Amherst, he was a son of Geraldine (Bowser) (Wendall) Smith and the late Donald Gilroy. Mike had a passion for the outdoors, whether it was cutting in the woods or working in the yard. Mike was a selfless, hard-working man who would do anything for anyone, regardless of what he needed to do for himself. His love for his family was second to none, especially his grandchildren who brought out the kid in him again. He will be remembered by his wife of 37 years, Terry (Hunsley); daughter, Natalie Gilroy (Dan Matheson) and their children, Parker, Hunter and Damien Aucoin, Sienna and Makenzie Matheson; daughter, Sonya Cudmore and her children, Sienna and Avery Cudmore; brother, Jack (Debbie) Gilroy and their children, Cody and Corey Gilroy; special aunt, Dorothy Bowser; mother-in-law, Jenny (Richard) Bowser; father-in-law, Gordon Hunsley; sisters-in-law; step-brothers and step-sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Gilroy; nephew, Christopher Gilroy. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902-447-2930). Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 8 in Oxford Church of the Nazarene. Mike's family request all attending wear casual attire.
