January 21st, 1921 - August 24th, 2009. Passed peacefully away in St. John’s, formerly of Port Rexton. Predeceased by wife Mary (Ryan), parents John Ash and Sophie (Butler), sisters Ethel (Piercey), Carrie (Pennell/Freeman); brothers: William, Harry and Sydney. Left to mourn sisters-in-law Phyllis Bennett and Mary Ryan, brother-in-law Harold Ryan (Helen); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thank you to his friends Harvey and Violet, Arch and Shirley for their many visits and kindness over the years, Thank You to the staff of Hoyles East 2, from his niece Eileen Pennell. A service has taken place at Barrett’s Funeral Home and interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
