It is with great sadness we announce that Ellen “Babe” Power, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully, with quiet grace, at the Labrador West Health Centre (Labrador City, NL) on December 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Babe was predeceased by her husband Bill, parents William Hammond and Kathleen (Dwyer), sister Carol Ann, and brother Peter. She is leaving to mourn, her children Evelyn (Michael), Cathy (Wally), Billy (Michelle), George (Chris), Mary (Vince), brothers Ray, Gerard (Annette) and Tony (Leona), and sister-in-law Joan Hammond. She will be sadly missed by 15 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.Friends will be received at Penney's Funeral Home, 620 Hudson Drive, Labrador City on Thursday, December 13 from 7-9 pm. A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Friday, December 14, at 11 am at Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 500 Hudson Drive, Labrador City. Cremation and Christian Burial to follow.
