Della McKay (1930 – 2018)
It is with sad hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Della Winnifred (Crawford) McKay on December 7, 2018. She passed away after a short stay in Royal University Hospital, in Saskatoon. Della was born to Joan and Lloyd Crawford on January 25, 1930. She was raised in Mont Nebo and moved to Prince Albert as a young woman. Della married William Vernon (Vern) McKay on March 17, 1962. They had two children – Colleen and Shelley. Della worked in retail until her retirement at the age of 69 with the majority of her career being at Hunt’s IGA. She loved spending time with her daughters and always looked forward to their visits. She enjoyed cooking, baking, watching game shows, following the Toronto Blue Jays and her favourite curling teams. Della is predeceased by her husband, Vern (2003), her parents Joan and Lloyd Crawford, her sisters Lucy Betker and Vera Crawford, her brothers Donald Crawford and Raymond Crawford, her parents in law Charles and Gladys McKay, her sister in law Lorraine Crawford, her brothers in law Ruldolph Betker and Joe Fusick, her nephews Roy Betker and Morris Betker, and her niece Gloria Dawson. Della is remembered by her daughters Colleen McKay (Larry Drager) and Shelley McKay, her sister Joyce Fusick, her brothers Arthur Crawford and Roy (Clara) Crawford, her sisters in law Bernice Crawford and Delphine (George) Stephen and numerous nieces and nephews.
