FARROW, Tamra – age 64, Hebron, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Windsor, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Bob and Nancy (Phin) Farrow. She is survived by her loving brother Gary Farrow of Windsor, ON. Tamra was very involved in the fine arts, having graduated with an advanced diploma in Fine Arts and then obtaining her Masters Degree in Art Therapy. In 1982 Tamra began a distinguished career at MSA General Hospital in Abbotsford, BC as one of the first art therapists in Canada, a discipline she went on to instruct and lecture about. Through the years she continued to earn many credentials related to her field. This was the beginning of a career in rehabilitation and eventually senior care, which would eventually see her as Provincial Coordinator of the New Brunswick Healthy Active Living program, then as Project Manager for Health Canada and Veteran’s Affairs Canada as well as for the Adult Development & Aging Research Program, Psychology Dept., Mount Allison University. She had also worked as Community Support and Volunteer Services for the VON in Amherst. In 2015 she retired as coordinator of the Fall Prevention Program for the Nova Scotia Health Authority in Yarmouth. When she wasn’t busy working, Tamra could often be found at art exhibitions across Canada and was involved on many boards, both past and present, including the Canadian Red Cross, SPCA and various art associations, to name a few. She was currently involved in educating the public on Lyme disease and was a member of the Dalhousie School of Nursing Tick Awareness Working Group. Arrangements were entrusted to H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth, where a celebration of Tamra’s life took place on Thursday, December 13 at 11 a.m. A memorial service will also be held in Windsor, Ont. in the spring of 2019. Donations in memory of Tamra may be made to the Salvation Army, the SPCA, the Yarmouth Food Bank or to a charity of your choice.
