It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Ferno ‘Buster’ Ross, on Saturday, May 28, 2011.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Mary ‘Mamie’ (Brown) Ross.
Buster was employed at Sydney Steel Rod and Bar Mill until an injury in 1973. Later he returned to work and was in the electrical shop. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a great carpenter. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren who enjoyed spending time with their ‘poppy’.
Surviving are his loving wife, of 62 years Mildred (Millie) Jackson; sons, George (Ingrid), Wayne, Gary (Lynn), Blair (Sarah), Russell (Sue), Roger (Jacquie), John (Carrie), Brent (Michelle) and Brad (Debbie); daughters, Glenda Orychock, Elaine (Bobby) Joyce, Wilma (Gerry) Giroux, Arlene (Pierre) McCarthy, Janet (Richard) MacPhee; one sister, Marie (Raymond) Stephens; and his son-in-law, Darrell Crane.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah, a son, Jay, sisters, Elizabeth ‘Bessie’ Manning, Mary Woods and Sylvia Domanski and one brother, Kenneth.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Tuesday, 11 a.m., with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
